Part of a broad complimentary and CPD certified education agenda dedicated to “Educating and empowering construction professionals to achieve Saudi Vision 2030”, Dr. Alshabatat's workshop will take place at 18:30-19:15 hrs.
Titled "The Execution Strategy and the Three Constraints - Case Study in Construction Project Management" the presentation will focus on:
- The need for cultural change
- Communication strategy
- Utilizing IT in construction project management
Here's what Dr. Alshabatat, Projects Director - Water & Infrastructure - KSA & Bahrain Arcadis, revealed us ahead of the workshop:
"The traditional project management practice might be considered as a general guidance for project managers, innovative solutions would be needed in some cases especially when the project is at risk.
One of the important aspects to achieve the projects’ targets is to have an ultimate understanding and a healthy communication between the parties involved with the project, it is known that the readiness to accept the communication is more important than the mode of communication.
Sometimes it is not misunderstanding, or any type of barriers which affect communication, it is the wrong strategy of how to communicate.
In this session we will be talking about strategies for communication, change management, and the execution in general as well when the project is at risk.
The practical explanation will utilize a case study about one of the strategical construction projects in Saudi Arabia which was at different types of risks and challenges but has been completed as per its defined plan in terms of time, cost, and quality by adopting the best strategy which was fit for that project.
Also, we will show that how some simple ideas and techniques can make a big difference
To achieve the project’s targets within time, same cost, and with the best quality."
