Facilities Management Leaders’ Summit Returns to FM EXPO Saudi

· The Facilities Management Leaders’ Summit has returned on the opening day of FM EXPO Saudi and Saudi Clean Expo (14 – 16 January 2018 at the Jeddah Centre for Forums & Events).

· FM EXPO Saudi and Saudi Clean Expo will feature CPD (continued professional development) certified free-to-attend workshops across all three days and is co-located with HVACR Expo Saudi.

After its success last year, the Facilities Management Leaders’ Summit has returned on the opening day of FM EXPO Saudi and Saudi Clean Expo next week, which will run from 14 – 16 January 2018 at the Jeddah Centre for Forums & Events.

With the objective of driving operational efficiencies and cost effectiveness in the Saudi market, internationally acclaimed industry experts followed an agenda focused on emerging trends and established best practices within the regional facilities management sector.

“Within leading facilities management companies in Saudi, there is a common belief that the potential for KSA’s FM market is being vastly underestimated - FM in Saudi is happening quicker than anybody thought”, says Event Director for FM EXPO Saudi and Saudi Clean Expo, Nathan Waugh.

“A high-level and informative congress like the Facilities Management Leaders’ Summit is a must attend for professionals working in such an accelerated sector. It introduces international best practices and gives foresight into the evolution of their industry in Saudi Arabia, and goes further to highlight the big project opportunities for the FM industry,” he adds.

A panel of local and international FM experts opened the summit including Ian MacQuarrie, Facilities Management Director in Construction Services KSA at AECOM, Country Head of KSA for JLL MENA Ibrahim Al-Buloushi, and Chief Executive of Cushman & Wakefield Middle East Richard Naylor.

Leading into the first segment of the summit, ‘Macro Market Trends and Updates’, their talking points introduced visitors to the evolving facilities management market in Saudi Arabia – identifying key targets set in Saudi Vision 2030 and examining the effect of emerging building policy and regulations towards the facilities management sector.

The summit included updates in building automation and connectivity; Adrian Jarvis, Director of FSI Middle East who provide computer aided facilities management solutions, together with Jason Reuhland, Chief Executive of KSA facilities management leader Reuhland, explored how the FM industry can benefit from such innovations.

The second segment of the summit, ‘Spotlight Sessions’, looked into emerging education, healthcare, hospitality, and transport sectors in Saudi Arabia, offering both case studies of updated FM projects and unique insight into contract opportunities in the country.

Exhibitor at the event and Saudi based FM solutions provider, INITIAL, reveal that “Saudi Arabia is now placed as the regions primary market for FM growth and one that is thought to be worth some USD 20 Billion”. Group Chief Operating & Development officer at INITIAL Saudi Group, Alistaire Smylie, affirms that “FM EXPO Saudi is a testament to this undeniable development across all major sectors in the kingdom and highlights the demand for innovative and cost-effective facilities management solutions.”

Abdulaziz al Omair, Vice President of Facilities management for Tatweer Buildings, confirmed FM strategy provider for 30,000 schools in KSA, covered the education sector in these spotlight sessions, and Dr. Fatih Mehmet Gul, Chief Operating Officer at Fakeeh University Hospital, spoke on the world class technologies in Saudi’s hospital FM sector.

In addition to the summit, the event will continue to feature CPD (continued professional development) certified free-to-attend workshops across all three days. These will cover updated industry topics such as legionella, the emergence of the Internet of Things, and shifting financial influencers like privatisation and VAT.

The 2018 edition of FM EXPO Saudi and Saudi Clean Expo will attract over 1, 500 industry professionals from around the region, it is supported by Platinum sponsor Advanced Integrated Services, Summit Sponsor Musanadah, and Supporting Association MEFMA and MECA.

Organised by dmg events Middle East, Asia & Africa and MICE Arabia, the event is co-located with HVACR Expo Saudi, taking place 14-16 January 2018 at Jeddah Centre for Forums & Events.
